The formation of “Bow tie” units from a circular disc (Illustration No. 72) . . . “is an important phenomenon because it is a basic characteristic of wave phenomena which act really like propeller blades. That is, all waves always come back upon themselves. We have then a perfect wave control by dealing in 360 degrees and it comes back on itself and yet we have precessional interferences with itself where it makes itself into little local bow ties.” (Adapted.)
