"closed line is definable, valid, calculatable, and useful. Why is this so? Because the plane outside the bound area leads in all lateral directions away to infinity and, therefore, is undefinable. On the inside of the boundary line was definability, finity. On the outside was only undefinability, infinity. The ‘Ins’ were reliable. The ‘Outs’ were dangerously unpredictable.
