There were systems based on modulo twelve.
The system was in twelves
For the very simple reason that the decimal system doesn’t embrace the number three rationally.
Since they had so many threefold experiences,
And the triangle was so important,
They really wanted something that would embrace it evenly.
So they came to twelve.
