"But we must recognize also
The irreversibility aspect
Of generalized principles
Which show that
Though they can be distilled
And abstracted from
A multitude of special case experiences,
Their net significance economically isolated
And their unique characteristics defined,
They cannot be employed
In total universally ranging performance.
You can abstract
From many experiences
With floating objects
The principle of displacement
As did Archimedes,
But you cannot design
A generalized displacement
Nor a generalized boat."
