Did not unrefine itself
And return as ore into the mountain
After the war was over,
But remained in the dynamo winding
And in the high-voltage transmission lines,
To keep on delivering
Electrically converted water power
To distant places
To help humanity do its work,
To refrigerate the foods that used to perish
Before reaching the world’s mouths
To regenerate life.
Man had simply rearranged the scenery
To support more humans
For more days of their lives,
Despite its being
Only negatively entered
