“Those who are world travelers are familiar with the scene at the airport delivery turntables: along come well strapped bundles of tubes and blue nylon which are picked up by young humans and strapped on their backs. These packs open out into very small homes, but homes they are, and very satisfactory to youth in a world where there are so many satisfactory technological complementations of such world-around living in the form of electrified and plumbed campsites and hostels.”
