"Nonscientific architecture became obsolete in the 1920s and was central to the crash of 1929. By guaranteeing mortgages in 1933, the United States Government underwrote this obsolete, nonscientific building activity often erroneously spoken of as the ‘building industry.’ It is the antithesis of industry.
